Nissui's product development concept for fiscal 2004 is reliable quality brought about by pursuing tastiness with genuine value and health & safety. |
Nissui continues to make use of mature technologies and research findings
as a manufacturer focusing on changes in the market, including consumer
and distribution trends, and to develop products based on its respectable
code of corporate practice. In fiscal 2004, Nissui will develop products
with the aim of bringing about reliable quality by pursuing tastiness
with genuine value and health & safety.
Development of New Categories
We will offer products suitable for use in small portions based on the
refinement of flavored frozen vegetables released in autumn/winter of
2003. Only the amount needed can be used when another vegetable dish or
extra color needs to be added to a lunch box.
Development of New Products
(1) Expansion of Range of Finished Products in Integrated
Production Business
Salmones Antartica S.A., Nissui Group's affiliate in Chile, is engaged
in the integrated salmon culturing business, which involves the integrated
management of all processes spanning from parent-fish selection, to spawning,
hatching, nurturing, product processing and delivery. Among coho salmon, trout and Atlantic
salmon produced by Salmones Antartica S.A., Nissui will release a
pilaf product containing Atlantic salmon in its prime this spring.
(2) Combination of Seafood and Vegetables, Root
Vegetables and Beans
Nissui will release new products combining seafood, where its strength
lies, with vegetables, root vegetables and beans.
(3) Products highlighting Functional Food Ingredients
In response to customers' desire to have a healthier diet, Nissui will
offer food products fortified with eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic
acid (DHA) to make them easier to consume as part of their everyday diet.
(4) Pursuit of Convenience
Nissui exercised creativity in meeting consumers' everyday needs to effectively
use limited time, by creating products which can be used after simply
heating up the whole package in a microwave oven, and cooking in the
entire tray to save washing up.
Nissui will offer products which can be used in various dishes, as an
extra item to add to lunch boxes by cutting them in half, or put them
in sandwiches easily because of their long shapes.
(5) New Proposals for Pouch-packed Foods
Nissui will release a side-dish product for lunch boxes on sales floors
other than the frozen foods section. As it is pouch-packed, heating is
not required; it can be put in a lunch box as is, and can be stored at
room temperature or in the refrigerator.
