Establishment of joint company and construction of a new factory in China

Nippon Suisan Kaisha, Ltd. (Naoya Kakizoe, President & CEO) has established a joint company in June 2004 and will build a new plant in Qingdao city, Shandong, China as part of its efforts to improve efficiency and strengthen its production capacities of the group.
The new join company will serve as a food processing base with the largest production capacities of the group, targeting the global market with marine products as a pillar. Its factory is scheduled to start operations in March 2005 (the first stage).

Nippon Suisan is aiming to “create new value that will be appreciated by customers through its wealth of knowledge and technology accumulated over the years based on marine resources and take a strong leadership role, growing together with our customers in Japan and throughout the world, by enhancing our capabilities and strength as a producer in the area”, under its medium-term plan, titled the Toward Global Links (TGL) plan.

The new plant will serve as the major production base that handles both marine products and foods, promoting links between group companies, as one of the global supply chain, along with outlined policies in our plan.

The company mainly engages in the business with Nippon Suisan for the initial stage and export products to Japan, Europe and the US. The company plans to sell the products in the Chinese market in the future.
