Nippon Cookery Co., Ltd. (President: Toshihiko Nonaka), a fully-owned
subsidiary of Nippon Suisan Kaisha, Ltd. (President & CEO: Naoya Kakizoe),
has newly constructed the Nippon Cookery Shimada Plant in Shimada-Shi,
Shizuoka Prefecture.
As a plant dedicated to and in compliance with the vendor reorganization
plan of Lawson, Inc., Shimada Plant will supply packed lunches, rice balls,
sushi, prepared foods and salads to about 200 shops of Lawson throughout
Shizuoka Prefecture and in some parts of Mikawa region in Aichi Prefecture.
Shimada Plant is a cutting-edge plant in this field, equipped with integrated
air conditioning and process management systems, spanning from raw materials
to products, and it can be expanded to flexibly adapt to the evolution
of cooking techniques in the years to come. The Plant was designed with
the following concepts in mind:
| (1) |

| (2) |
Environmentally-friendly plant (reduction of CO2, recycling of resources,
active adoption of IH equipment); |

Energy-saving plant (durability, introduction of energy-saving equipment,
process management system); |
 |
| (4) |
Plant designed to serve as a food supply base in the event of an
earthquake disaster (adoption of quake-absorbing |
|
structure especially as an anti-earthquake measure, reinforcement
of lifeline backup functions); and |
 |
| (5) |
Expansible plant that allows for future expansion of functions. |
Having completed Shimada Plant, Nippon Cookery Co., Ltd. now has nine
plants, including the existing two plants in the Kanto region, one plant
in the Chukyo region, two plants in the Kansai region, two plants in
the Kyushu region and one joint-venture plant in the Hokuriku region.
