Guide
to Issuance of Nissui Environmental Report 2005
Nippon Suisan Kaisha, Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Nissui", President & CEO:
Naoya Kakizoe) has just issued the first Nissui Environmental Report 2005.
Nissui launched the Environmental Committee chaired by the President
in May 2003, and established the Environmental Code in June 2005. We have
since been making steady environmental efforts, in familiar areas to begin
with, as a corporate citizen striving to bring about a recycling-oriented
sustainable society, while raising the environmental awareness of each
and every employee. Our priority areas for activities aimed at reducing
environmental impact include the reduction of waste, water and CO2 emission.
As a tool to promote such activities, we basically utilize ISO14001, for
which 32 business establishments within the Nissui Group have acquired
certification (as of August 2005).
We are making use of the Declaration of Corporate Policy, the Code of
Ethics, the Quality Assurance Code and the Environmental Code as our yardsticks
for solving business problems that we face everyday, in an effort to meet
the expectations of many of our stakeholders who support our corporate
activities, such as our customers, clients and shareholders, as well as
local communities and our employees.
In the first Nissui Environmental Report 2005, we have summarized our
environmental track record for the year ended March 31, 2005 to the greatest
extent possible. We are committed to steadily forging ahead into the future,
to prove worthy of your trust and expectations, while continuing to make
consistent improvements and enhancing our activities.
