On the acquisition of the certification as an
“EU export-worthy marine seafood processing facility”

Kurose Suisan Co., Ltd. (President: Tomoyuki Maebashi) was certified from Miyazaki Prefecture as an “EU export-worthy marine seafood processing facility.” In conjunction with this certification, the Company received the certificate form in the office of Hideo Higashikokubaru, Governor of Miyazaki Prefecture, at 10:45 a.m. today.

The Company’s Nobeoka Aquaculture Farm (registered with Miyazaki Prefecture on September 13, 2006), Kushima Aquaculture Farm (registered with Miyazaki Prefecture on September 13, 2006) and Uchinoura Aquaculture Farm (registered with Kagoshima Prefecture on December 18, 2006) have also been registered with same certifications. Moreover, this latest certification for our food processing facility will enable us to establish a breeding to processing structure geared toward the EU that integrates every process from breeding and processing to exporting.

Exports of Kurose yellowtail to the EU are planned through European sales companies of the Nissui Group, such as J.P. Klausen Co. A/S (Head Office: Denmark). An export volume of 20,000 yellowtails (or approximately 100t) is planned for FY 2008, while this volume is expected to increase to 200,000 (or approximately 1,000t) within the next three years.

This certification was acquired as a result of our continuous efforts under the guidance of the Miyazaki Prefecture Sanitation Department, Chuo Public Health Department and Nichinan Health Department. After three years of repeated improvements and education, we were able to further improve on our level of “safe and secure” not only for our aquaculture farms but also for our food processing facility, which includes processing for domestic food products. We hope to continue to offer our “safe, secure and tasty” Kurose yellowtail.
