Organizational Restructuring, Changes in Responsibilities of Board of Members, and Assignments of General Managers

Please be informed that Nippon Suisan Kaisha, Ltd. (President and CEO: Naoya Kakizoe) will be restructuring its organization, changing the responsibilities of its Board Members, and appointing General Managers as indicated below.

1. Organizational Restructuring (As of March 1)

(To be newly established)

  • A Global Group Strategic Planning Office will be formed to optimize group management to be conducted on a global scale, and a Global Group Strategic Planning Office, which will report directly to the President, will be newly established as the dedicated administrative office of the Committee.

(1) Business Supervising / Business Promotion Departments

(To be newly established / to be transferred)

  • A Fisheries & Food Products Business Operation Division will be newly established in order to promote business by integrating and reinforcing the marketing functions and the supply management functions of the Marine Products business and the Foods business.
  • A General Manager and Deputy General Manager of Fisheries & Food Products Business Operation Division will be appointed and the departments currently under the direct or joint supervision of the COO of Seafood Business and the COO of Processed Food Business will be transferred and placed under the supervision of the General Manager and Deputy General Manager of Fisheries & Food Products Business Operation Division.
  • The Fisheries Business Operating Officer, the Food Products Business Operating Officer, the Business Supervisor in N. America and the Business Supervisor in S. America will be placed under the supervision of the General Manager and Deputy General Manager of Fisheries & Food Products Business Operation Division.
  • The Marketing Planning Office (to be newly established) and the Supply Chain Management Dept. will serve as the administrative functions of the General Manager and Deputy General Manager of Fisheries & Food Products Business Operation Division.

(Change of Business Division Name)

  • The COO of Seafood Business shall be changed to Fisheries Business Operating Officer, the COO of Processed Food Business shall be changed to Food Products Business Operating Officer.

(To Be Abolished)

  • The Marketing Promotion Office, the Global Purchasing Office, the Fisheries Business Dept. and the Marine Products Food Marketing Dept., the National Account Food Service Marketing Dept., the Fine Foods Operations Dept. and the Osaka Branch Co-op Sales Dept.

[1] Matters relating to the Fisheries & Food Products Business Operation Division

  • The Krill Operations Dept., the Aquaculture Business Promotion Office, the Marine Business Strategy Office, the Product Research & Development Center, the Global Marketing Director, the Global Marketing Office and the Customer Services Center, which are under the direct / joint supervision of the COO of Seafood Business and the COO of Processed Food Business, will be placed under the direct supervision of the General Manager of Fisheries & Food Products Business Operation Division.

(To Be Newly Established)

  • The Fisheries Products Production Promotion Office will be newly established.

(To Be Abolished / Transferred)

  • The Marine Products Food Marketing Dept. will be established and its function will be transferred to the Fisheries Products Production Promotion Office and will be placed under the direct supervision of the General Manager of Fisheries & Food Products Business Operation Division.

(Change of Business Division Name)

  • The Production Promotion Office will be renamed the Food Products Production Promotion Office and will be placed under the direct supervision of the General Manager of Fisheries & Food Products Business Operation Division.
  • The Production Engineering Center will be renamed the Technology Development Center and will be placed under the direct supervision of the General Manager of Fisheries & Food Products Business Operation Division.

[2] Matters relating to the Fisheries Business Operating Officer

(To Be Abolished / Newly Established/ Transferred)

  • The Fisheries Business Dept. will be abolished and the Fisheries Business Department 1 and the Fisheries Business Department 2 will be newly established.
  • The National Account Food Service Marketing Dept. will be abolished and its functions will be transferred to the Fisheries Business Department 1 and the Fisheries Business Department 2.
  • The Kansai Fisheries Products Marketing & Sales Dept., the Feed and Aquaculture Business Operations Dept. and the Fisheries Products Sales Promotion Officer will be placed under the supervision of the Fisheries Business Operating Officer.

[3] Matters relating to the Food Products Business Operating Officer

  • The National Account Sales Division, the Sendai Branch, the Kanto-Shin-etsu Branch, the Nagoya Branch, the Osaka Branch, the Hiroshima Branch, the Fukuoka Branch, the Consumer Products Dept., the Food Service Products Dept., the Shelf-stable Foods Dept., the Chilled Foods Dept. and the Foods Sales Promotion Officer will be placed under the supervision of the Food Products Business Operating Officer.

(2) Matters relating to the Support Administration Division

  • The scope of research for the Food Function Research Center will be expanded from foods to cover all facets of life and the Center will be renamed the Human Life Science R&D Center.
  • The Research Promotion Office will be abolished.
