June 1986	Mineshima Maru left for the final expedition under the U.S.'s Pacific Ocean quota.	April 1986 Finet, Inc. was established as a VAN operating company for the food products industry.
December 1986	"Uo Shiryo" (three volumes) was published in commemoration of the company's 75th anniversary of establishment.
March 1987	Applied for approval to manufacture "EPA-E Nissui" together with Mochida Pharmaceutical.
June 1987	Began production of cultured fish feed for salmon at the Onagawa Fish Feed and Oil Plant.
September 1987	Sales of the household frozen food product "Cook For Me Champon" began.
April 1988	Approval of Mother ship-type salmon/trout expeditions ended.	January 1988 U.S. fishing quota for foreign vessels in the North Pacific Ocean abolished (virtually ending fishing in this area).
October 1988	Facilities for the production of frozen noodles and rice dishes were added to the Hachioji General Plant.
December 1988	NISSUI acquired Salmones Antartica S.A., a salmon and trout aquaculture company in Chile. Nippon Suisan (Europe) B.V. was established in the Netherlands.	April 1989 The Consumption Tax Act was enacted (3% tax rate).
September 1989	Sales of the household frozen food product "Cook For Me Yaki Onigiri" began.
February 1990	Nippon Suisan America Latina S.A. (N.A.L.) was established in Chile.
March 1990	"NISSUI obtained approval to make ""EPA-E NISSUI,"" a drug substance."
April 1990	Tsukuba Plant was established
August 1990	Jointly developed EPA drug "Epadel" with Mochida Pharmaceutical.
September 1990	UniSea's GLS Plant No. 2(surimi plant) completed.
November 1990	Presented a plan to the All Japan Seamen's Union for downsizing the fishing business.	October 1990 German reunification. December 1990 Motor Truck Transportation Business Act and Consigned Freight Forwarding Business Act enacted.
