Technology for condensing EPA was developed.

The United States enacted American Fisheries Promotion Act (Breaux Amendment [I]).

PESPASA founded in Buenos Aires, Argentina, as a fishery base.

Mineshima Maru left for the final expedition under the U.S.'s Pacific Ocean quota.

Finet, Inc. was established as a VAN operating company for the food products industry.

"Uo Shiryo" (three volumes) was published in commemoration of the company's 75th anniversary of establishment.

Applied for approval to manufacture "EPA-E Nissui" together with Mochida Pharmaceutical.

Began production of cultured fish feed for salmon at the Onagawa Fish Feed and Oil Plant.

Sales of the household frozen food product "Cook For Me Champon" began.

Approval of Mother ship-type salmon/trout expeditions ended.

U.S. fishing quota for foreign vessels in the North Pacific Ocean abolished (virtually ending fishing in this area).

Facilities for the production of frozen noodles and rice dishes were added to the Hachioji General Plant.

NISSUI acquired Salmones Antartica S.A., a salmon and trout aquaculture company in Chile.
